The goal behind the project was to decrease the presence of violence and intolerance. Since both often come with a lack of experience of “others”, the project began with the idea of altering how immigants are perceived in public spaces. The focus of the project was how they are noticed and when the perception of them had to change if it was based on stereotypes.

Fascinating parts of the project then developed, resulting in exhibitions like “Gute Töchter, gute Söhne” (good daughters, good sons) and “@nien in Neukölln”, an urban computer game for schoolchildren.

A co-operation between Kulturamt Neukölln, Bundesministerium für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend (through Entimon), Werkstatt der Kulturen, Universität der Künste – Kunst im Kontext, with support from GEHAG GmbH and GASAG.
